Changing World

So wow, the shift to the new development model continues.  It is challenging to drop old practices and methodologies and pick-up entirely new ones - and this is just a merger of divisions within a company.  No wonder merging disparate companies frequently is such a mess.  There are several positive and long overdue impacts to the merger.  First, a consolidated issue tracking system is finally being implemented.  This move is long overdue.  Second, we're standardizing our requirements documentation across the organization.  Third, CRM!  I'm really pumped to see us actually implementing a CRM solution.  Everyone should be using CRM, our past knowledge base on clients was spread willy-nillie between product managers and across a dozen different network file shares.

One concern I have related to all these rapid changes is the global team being kept in the loop. We've been turning the world upside down in Birmingham, I don't believe our cohorts in India know what the new world order looks like - my direct reports have changed and I'm no longer in contact with the previous group so it's hard for me to gauge.
